Yet an other installment of the New Seneca Nation of Casinos... whoopps I mean Indians. Its nice and all that all the money is coming in but instead of talking about all this crap that the people really don't care about in day to day life, why not talk about the Seniors Benefits, Education and such?

To the People of the Seneca Nation

I hope everyone is well and in good health.

Burial fund
The Tribal Council a few years ago enacted a resolution to establish a burial fund for enrolled members in the amount of $5,000 for each burial. Under the policy, the death certificate is required for our records. We realize that burial costs may present a hardship for some families, and this is why the burial fund was established. for more information, please contact the Seneca Nation Clerk?s Office at: Post Office Box 231, Salamanca, N.Y. 14770. Buffalo Creek Casino Plans Unveiled

It was an Honor for me to represent and speak on behalf of all members of the Seneca nation of Indians at the press conference held on Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at the site of our Buffalo Creek Casino. This event was well attended and there was a high level of unity and support as the plans for the new Buffalo Creek Casino were unveiled to the public. Recognition of the business acumen and capabilities of the Seneca Nation of Indians was further acknowledged by speakers Barry Snyder, Sr., Chairman of the Seneca Gaming Corporation Board and the Honorable Byron Brown, Mayor of Buffalo.

The Buffalo Creek Casino will be most beneficial to the members of the Seneca Nation of Indians, with intrinsic benefits to be reaped by the City of Buffalo, erie County and the State of New York. With the approval of the Buffalo Creek Casino project being authorized by our Tribal Council, I applaud the foresight and determination of our Tribal Council to protect and provide for our future and general welfare of our Tribal members.

The Buffalo Creek Casino will be our third luxury hotel and casino, and, upon completion, we will have fulfilled the terms of our compact with New York State. I would like to mention that our temporary casino, a blue butler building situated on the 9 acre Seneca Nation Territory in Buffalo, N.Y. has been doing extremely well. We increased the hours it is open in order to accommodate the crowds of people.

Ninth Annual Native American Music Awards (NAMA)
On behalf of the Seneca Nation, I was happy to welcome the Native American Music Awards Ceremony to our beautiful Niagara Territory. Talented Native people came from all parts of the United States and Canada to this unique, momentous event. Trophies where awarded to fourteen outstanding musicians.

Music is, and has always been, an important part of our culture and heritage. The Native American Music Awards have never been held in this area before, and the Seneca Events Center provided a venue like no other. As a people, the Seneca Nations of Indians is known for our hospitality. We extended that hospitality for this wonderful celebration.

SGC Board Chairman Berry E. Snyder Sr. and SGC President & CEO Brian Hansberry also welcomed everyone tot he Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel.

SGC Board Chairman Barry E. Snyder Sr. said, "Tonight's celebration is important for all of us. For you, as artists, it is an opportunity for you to be recognized and honored by your peers. For us, it is an unique opportunity to host the only event of this kind in the world and to showcase all that we have to offer." "most of all, thought, tonight is a celebration - a celebration of your hard work and success, a celebration of music, and a celebration of the Native American spirit."

SGC President and CEO Hansberry said, "We are honored to be able to showcase the very best of the Native American music industry. You have earned a place in the spotlight, and we hot that the eyes of the world turn to your presence here and recognize your incredible talents. Enjoy yourselves here at the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel."

The talented musicians, many of them acclaimed artist, as well as recording artists, gave outstanding performances for the audience. There was standing room only in the Events Center.

New Events Center now bing constructed in the Seneca Allegheny Casino and Hotel
In closing, I would like to report that the ?old? space once occupied by the casino, prior to the opening of the Seneca Allegheny Casino and Hotel, is no being converted to an (Allegheny) Events Center. We expect to hold concerts, entertainment shows, and other events in this Events Center. The renovations should be completed in a few months.

In other news, I am proud to report that the Seneca Nation programs are carrying out their purpose in an excellent manner. In addition, the enterprises are doing remarkably well. I commend the managers.

With kind regards,
Maurice A. John Sr.
